It's a rustic fish camp style restrauant near the former home of Marjorie Rawlings, author of the book The Yearling in 1938.
The way there is a 'out in the back 40' in Central Fl., with lots of fun roads & things to see.
14531 East County Rd 325 zip 32640
Lot social 11:30.
Opens 12:00.
Not a typical menu for a fishcamp style.
Live music
Good reviews

Riders if you'd like to ride some unusual roads to & from this ride. Contact Roy from Gainesville.
He's a great guide & very knowledgeable on Central Fl roads large or small.

As example, a likely, non interstate, route from Brooksville to the Yearling in Cross Creek would be N41 to S27 to E18 to N301 to N325 (5 roads, 90 miles). I am NOT TAKING this route.

INSTEAD, I (Roy) am riding from Brooksville area with Rich and our route uses 44 roads with 207 curves in 113 miles. If interested in joining us on this route to the Yearling lunch, be at kick-stands-up prompt at 8:30 am. Location: Speedway gas station on SW corner of Route 50 and Spring Lake Road in east Brooksville.
[Lots of bikes use this as a meet spot. Look for Rich on a good looking 'silver dammit' Connie or me on a Ducati Xdiavel]

It's been a while since I've been on a Roy ride. My plan is to make this. Hopefully there will be a bio break somewhere on the route.

Fresh oil and rear tire on the V, zoom zoom.

Yee. Haw.

I'm in, I think. Looks to be a bit nippy in the morning. Low 40's!!!!
I'll be firing up the electric vest for sure.
See ya all at the Speedway in Brooksville.

Great! I charged mine yesterday. I'm leaving Gainesville in 38⁰ at 6am to meet you all at Speedway.

I'm gonna pass on the Brooksville meet up, it's just gonna be too cold for this FLA wimp. See y'all at lunch.

Chilly start to the morning, but a wonderful "Roy Ride".
He certainly knows where the twistys are. Thanks Roy.
And Jo thanks for getting this going. Very unusual place, and now I have a book to read.
Good to see everyone.
Bruce

Everyone that had the venison remarked on how good is was, so I thought it funny when the Yearling book arrived
and described it as a "tender relationship between a young boy and his tame fawn". Ooops!
Anyone feel guilty now????

What a phenomenal ride that was. Roy has put us on some great roads. I cant thank you enough and look forward to many more with you all. and the Venison was AWESOME as well.

I don't feel guilty...on second thought, I did have the great gator (but my gator team did upset Ole miss).

Great turnout of 13 on a colddddd day to to a distant location for many.
Thank you to Jo for being the catalyst. Fun time.
